About Angle Surveys

Angle Surveys is a RICS Chartered Land and Measured Building Surveying practice, established in 2013. We provide accurate, reliable surveying services to private individuals, charities, investors, developers, professional consultants, and public bodies across the UK.

The practice is led by Marcus Westlund BSc (Hons), MSc, MRICS, Chartered Surveyor and Managing Director, who personally oversees technical standards, quality control and compliance on every project, ensuring all surveys meet the highest professional and technical expectations.

Emma Reilly BSc (Hons), PGCert, FCMgr manages the day-to-day operation of the business, acting as a key client contact and ensuring health and safety procedures and business policies remain fully up to date.
Angle Surveys operates in accordance with RICS regulations, is SMAS Worksafe accredited, and is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.
We combine technical expertise with a practical, approachable service, delivering consistent, high-quality survey outputs for projects of any scale.

A Message from the Founder and Managing Director

"I genuinely enjoy surveying and consider it a privilege to run a practice that supports projects from concept through to delivery. I approach every survey not simply as a technical exercise, but as an opportunity to add value, using experience and professional judgement to support planning, drainage, engineering, architectural and highways design.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing projects completed: a family’s new home or extension brought to life, or public infrastructure such as a cycle path that I can later use with my own children. That sense of contribution is what drives my commitment to quality and client service, and why, even after over 20 years of experience, I still genuinely love surveying"

Managing Director | Chartered Geomatics Surveyor

Health and safety

Picture
Health and safety is central to all surveying activities at Angle Surveys Ltd. We are SSIP accredited through SMAS Worksafe and are proud to be one of the few SMAS-accredited land surveying practices operating across North and Mid Wales.
All survey work is undertaken following project-specific risk assessments and method statements, ensuring site hazards are properly identified and managed in line with recognised best practice. Our procedures are practical, proportionate, and designed to deliver surveys safely without compromising accuracy or programme.
We maintain £5,000,000 Public and Products Liability Insurance, and our surveyors receive ongoing health and safety training appropriate to the environments in which we operate.
Where sites present elevated risk or restricted access, we utilise advanced non-contact surveying techniques, including laser scanning, to minimise exposure while maintaining high-quality data capture.
By placing safety, competence and professional responsibility at the forefront of our work, Angle Surveys enables clients to proceed with confidence.

The Environment

Picture
Angle Surveys is committed to operating responsibly and minimising environmental impact. We have been involved in a wide range of sustainable and low-carbon projects, including cycleway schemes, wind farm surveys, biomass facilities and other environmentally focused infrastructure developments.
Our own operations reflect this commitment. We operate a paperless workflow, use 100% renewable energy and, where practicable, recharge survey equipment on site using vehicle-mounted solar panels.
We have also provided surveying services for one of Wales’ largest electric vehicle charging parks, supporting the delivery of sustainable infrastructure projects.

Technology

Picture
Angle Surveys uses industry-leading Leica Geosystems technology, including the latest Leica RTC360 laser scanner, advanced GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, DLRS photogrammetry, drones and non-contact survey methods where appropriate. All equipment is fully calibrated and maintained to ensure accuracy and reliability.
We continually invest in the latest technology, software and training to improve service quality, efficiency and data accuracy. Our workflows are supported by Windows 11–based HP workstations with high-performance processors, professional NVIDIA graphics, SSD storage and ECC memory, enabling efficient processing of large and complex survey datasets and helping ensure projects are delivered accurately and on programme.

Software

Picture
Angle Surveys uses fully licensed, original Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and Revit, alongside Leica point-cloud processing software and specialist geomatics and engineering survey platforms. All software is fully updated to ensure accuracy, security and compatibility.
Our workflows are supported by Windows 10/11 Professional systems and iPads for on-site data capture and verification, enabling efficient transfer of information between field and office.
Survey outputs can be provided in 2D or 3D formats including DWG, DXF, ASCII and GENIO MX (formerly MOSS) and are issued digitally via email, secure download, PDF or USB media. As a paperless practice, in-house plotting is not provided, although third-party printing can be arranged if required.
